Elon Musk challenged Twitter Inc CEO Parag Agrawal to a public debate regarding the percentage of bots on the social media network on Saturday.

"Let him prove to the public that Twitter has 5% phoney or spam everyday users!" Musk tweeted.

He also established a poll asking users if less than 5% of everyday Twitter users are fake/spam.

On Thursday, Twitter denied Musk's claim that he was duped into accepting a $44 billion deal to buy the firm.

On July 29, Musk filed a countersuit against Twitter, deepening his legal battle with the company over his desire to terminate the acquisition agreement.

Earlier on Saturday, Musk stated that if Twitter could share its process for sampling 100 accounts and confirming that the accounts are genuine, his proposal to buy the company should proceed on its original terms.
