Pakistan has announced a solid lineup for the Asia Cup and the Netherlands.

Pakistani Squad for Asia Cup and ODI

Pakistan has named a strong lineup for their forthcoming ODI series against the Netherlands as well as the T20I Asia Cup, which begins later this month.

Quickly becoming a star Shaheen Afridi has been nominated to both sides and is expected to play in the three-match Super League series against the Netherlands despite missing the recent second Test against Sri Lanka.

Babar Azam has been selected captain of both sides, while fast bowler Naseem Shah has been named in place of fellow quick Hasan Ali.

The team that faces the Netherlands will have five changes from the one that participates in the Asia Cup in the UAE, with Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha, and Zahid Mehmood being replaced by Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Usman Qadir.

Chief selector Muhammad Wasim is pleased with the balance of both teams and feels the alterations made to his team before the Asia Cup are beneficial for the team.

""We have only made changes that were necessary," he said

"Because both competitions are vital to us, we have chosen our best available players in collaboration with the captain and head coach."

"Hasan has been granted a hiatus from international cricket, and Naseem Shah has taken his position." He is extremely quick and can add to the fast bowling department, which currently includes Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shahnawaz Dahani. Naseem has not played any international white-ball cricket, but he has shown that he is an offensive option with strong speed and controlled swing with the red ball.

"Salman Ali Agha has been recalled to the ODI squad following a strong showing in the last two Pakistan Cup competitions, averaging 40.33 and 48.8." He also provides an alternative bowling option for Babar Azam."

Pakistan's opening game at the Asia Cup will be against archrival India on August 28 in Dubai.
